Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, Washington DC, USA. Earth Day. April 24, 2004. A collaborative Biodiesel Workshop which demonstrated the production process and raised awareness of this emerging technology during the celebration of Earth Day 2004.
EVI collaborated with the Terra Tiki Project and SustainUS to run a workshop on vegetable oil and biodiesel as a clean and alternative fuel for automobiles and trucks. The workshop included a demonstration of how vegetable oil is converted into a fuel called biodiesel; a demonstration of a car that has been converted to run on pure vegetable oil as a fuel source; and a discussion on the operational and economic benefits and limitations of using biodiesel and vegetable oil as a fuel source.
