The car wash industry in Brazil has operated mostly outside
of the formal economy. DryWash changed this standard in 1995 by creating an
enterprise that has a solid business structure with a core management team. The
key to DryWash's success is their product which uses no water to clean cars.
Instead the cloths are covered with Carnauba wax which is native to Brazil and will
remove dirt and leave a polished surface after use making it a great resource
for car washes. In the ten years that DryWash has been operational their
waterless car wash system has saved 450 million liters of water.

Besides their environmental focus, DryWash has also had many
impacts on the communities they operate within. Since its inception DryWash has
employed over 2000 people. In addition, they have offered opportunities for
their employees to receive skill training in car engine operation. Also,
recently the company has begun to create opportunities for individuals to
create small businesses utilizing DryWash's technology.
DryWash has expanded its operations from Brazil to Mexico,
Portugal, and Australia and has plans to expand to the United States
and the European Union in the near future. For more information, you can visit their website (in spanish) or by visiting their New Ventures profile.
