Following education in biology and environmental studies at Washington and Lee University, Megan studied land use decision-making and social-environmental interactions in the Lushoto region of Tanzania, sparking her interest in environmentally sustainable methods of engaging the world community while maintaining local richness. She joined the EVI team in early 2006 and has been involved in the Environmental Enterprise Development Initiative and managed the Future Fuels program in Lushoto and Arusha, Tanzania, and her current focus is market-relevant environmental industry opportunities in Haiti. Megan's primary interests involve sustainable agriculture as business and finding parallels between successes in agri-business in the local and international context.
Besides programmatic work, Megan is involved in organizational development, and is excited to look for and connect with funding opportunities and partnerships to help support a growing organization with a particularly relevant and critical mission, and with the appropriate activities to work towards achieving a vision of real economic and environmental sustainability.
When not working with EVI, she enjoys gardening, visual arts, and exploring environmental business opportunities in mycology.
