Working with EVI provides an

involved in the daily operations as well as the implementation of our larger
strategic direction.

Knowledge Management and Online Communications Internship EVI is in need of a Knowledge Management and Online Communications Intern to support the website development and optimize its use. We are interested in exploring different Web2.0 and networking platforms such as Ning and various CMS systems, so a to effectively and productively disseminate EVI’s research, current activities, and latest news and learning. Qualifications: – Website development experience (Joomla knowledge preferred) – Experience utilizing the rapidly developing online networks – Graphic design experience preferred – Highly organized and detail oriented – Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully meet deadlines – Initiative, enthusiasm, drive, and curiosity – Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team – Interest in innovative and sustainable development work and environmental entrepreneurship – Management skills a plus. Commitment: A minimum of 10 to 20 hours weekly commitment for 3 to 6 months. Start date: Immediately. This is an unpaid internship, with potential for transition into staff position. EVI has an immediate opening for a Marketing and Development Intern to support our development strategy. Major responsibilities include:
Qualifications: – Some fundraising experience and familiarity with non-profit management – Experience with donor database management – Knowledge of SalesForce a plus -- Excellent writing and communication skills – Experience writing grant proposals – Highly organized and detail oriented -- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully meet multiple deadlines -- Initiative, enthusiasm, drive, and curiosity -- Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team -- Interest in innovative and sustainable development work and environmental entrepreneurship -- Management skills a plus. Commitment: A minimum of 20 hours weekly commitment as soon as available until December 2008, with full time commitment preferred. This is an unpaid internship, with potential for extension and future funding. Benefits: Flexible schedule. Great opportunity to improve and develop donor database management skills and fundraising skills, exposure to microenterprise development and the sustainable and international development fields. Program Support Internship EVI is in need of two Program Interns to assist team members with the following: project and grant research; creation of website content and other educational and promotional materials; coordination of brown bags, happy hours, workshops and other informational and fundraising events; general administration, including drafting letters, coordinating mailings, and maintaining program files and contact databases. Qualifications -- Excellent writing, research, and editing skills -- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully meet deadlines -- Computer savvy -- Initiative, enthusiasm, drive, and curiosity -- Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team -- Interest in innovative sustainable development work and environmental entrepreneurship -- Experience in East Africa a plus -- knowledge of French, Kreyol, and/or kiSwahili a plus -- Website development and management skills a plus Commitment: A minimum of 20 hours weekly commitment from August to December 2007. 30 hour commitment preferred. Cooperative, participative and open work environment.Research and Analysis Internship EVI is in need of a research intern to work with staff in in-depth research of developing green industries and value chains, in the US and internationally, to feed into publications in relevant journals and learning forums. The research intern’s responsibilities will include research on various environmentally sustainable technologies, industries, related legislation, etc, that may be tailored to the interns personal interests in combination with organizational goals. Other responsibilities may include utilizing this information to feed into an organizational newsletter, writing for the website, and contributing to other promotional material. Interns will work from home, but will meet weekly with an assigned mentor. Qualifications -- Excellent writing and research skills -- Initiative, enthusiasm, curiosity, and drive -- Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team -- Interest in innovative development work and environmental entrepreneurship -- Experience in East Africa and KiSwahili language ability a plus Commitment: A minimum of 16 hours weekly commitment from June to September 2008, with potential to extend.
