Kyle Muther joined the EVI Team in 2009 as an Enterprise Research Fellow working on international program research and analysis pertaining to the promotion of environmental enterprises. He is also assisting program staff preparing scopes of work, identifying partnership and grant opportunities, monitoring trends within EVI program areas, and supporting the monitoring and evaluation of projects. Kyle has comprehensive experience in project planning, grant and proposal writing, needs assessments, community training and youth development. He has extensive experience living, working, and studying in Latin America and Europe.
Prior to joining EVI, Kyle was employed with the Yanapuma Foundation, a Quito based NGO dedicated to innovative sustainable development in rural areas of Ecuador. For more than a year he worked with Yanapuma as a Projects Coordinator, developing, implementing and managing projects in agriculture, health, education and small business incubation. He has also worked with innovative grassroots organizations in Guatemala and Mexico. In Mexico City, Kyle worked with urban disadvantaged youth through community outreach and classroom teaching. Also, in Guatemala, he worked with the Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group (AIDG) delivering alcohol stoves after a natural disaster and participated in partnership building for effective development of environmental enterprises. He has a B.A. in International Relations and Social Anthropology from the University of St. Andrews, UK.
Kyle has developed a strong commitment to developing and implementing sustainable, participatory and innovative solutions for international and domestic disenfranchised people. He is a strong advocate for developing solutions through partnership and dialogue with local stakeholders and the effect that the voices of the poor can have on policy and practice at the global level.
